The Board of Directors announced the 79th Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fair will be held on its traditional last full weekend of September 23-26, 2021 in New Iberia.

The festival will put into place recommended best practices as per the State Fire Marshal’s guidelines, and the schedule of events will be announced at a later date.

About the Festival:

The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival is a fun-filled five-day event honoring Louisiana’s sugar cane industry with activities for the whole family. It kicks off on Wednesday with carnival rides, followed by the art and photography show and the livestock show on Thursday. Then comes the traditional Blessing of the Crops on Friday morning followed by the Children’s Parade and the Candy Toss parade in the evening. The Fais Do Do’s light up downtown New Iberia on Friday and Saturday night.

Receptions in honor of King Sucrose and festival honorees continue throughout the weekend with the choosing of the new Queen Sugar and the Coronation Ball on Saturday evening. The festival ends on Sunday with the new Queen Sugar and King Sucrose reigning over Sugarland in the Royalty Parade.
